Editorial policy

This compendium is an educational reference, not medical advice. It describes traditional Chinese medicine approaches alongside plain-language safety and evidence notes.

Authorship

Pages are written and edited by Ava Huang Jia Yi, Herbal Science Researcher. The author is responsible for the structure, editorial standard and source selection.

Review status

Pages are not yet clinically reviewed. When a qualified clinical reviewer signs a page off, their name and the review date will be shown on that page. Verification of individual citations does not by itself constitute clinical review.

Scope

This database covers plant, fungal and mineral materials, and pearl (Zhen Zhu), which has a long history in traditional beauty care. Other animal-derived materials are not included; where a classical formula contains one, it is named in the formula but not described.

Evidence labels

Labels describe the strength of the human evidence for the page subject. “Traditional use” means no verified human study of a TCM intervention for that condition was identified. “Limited studies” and “Clinical trials” require at least one verified study of a TCM intervention in people for that condition. Laboratory and mechanism papers, and studies of unrelated conditions, do not support those labels.

Classical sources

Classical quotations are attributed to the named book and chapter where that can be established. Quotations still awaiting full-text verification are marked for clinical review and are not presented as confirmed.

Corrections and dates

Each content record carries a source-change date. Corrections are recorded against the source record and the affected page. When a source changes, the date is updated and the change is noted in the page's revision history.

Advertising and conflicts

There is no advertising, sponsorship or affiliate relationship attached to the content. No commercial interest selects or edits the material.
